They cannot be fully inflated with a straw and breath alone - they require more power from an electric inflator, balloon hand pump, or helium regulator.
If you choose to inflate with helium, make sure to use the latex valve to provide enough force to fully inflate the balloon. During inflation, you may hear popping or cracking sounds as the seams separate - don't worry, this is completely normal and doesn't indicate that the balloon is about to burst. Simply continue to fully inflate the balloon until all wrinkles are gone and it forms a perfectly round shape.
